Review: Tomorrow’s Child - Spectres Of Summer

And here’s the third single from Tomorrow’s Child forthcoming album. After “Ruination” and “Once Great Western”, the Cornwall (UK) based electronic music producer brings us “Spectres Of Summer” that will also feature Beach Ghosts album, available later this year.

"Spectres Of Summer” blinks an eye to some of the 90’s most remarkable electronic music artists, such as Massive Attack, Goldie, Moby and, of course and once again in Tomorrow’s Child work, Aphex Twin. By chance, Richard David James grew up just down the road from Redruth in Lanner; Tomorrow’s Child is actually based in Redruth, a small town in Cornwall. So, placing his music in the same field of Aphex Twin makes even more sense after I discovered this interesting fact in an interview that Tomorrow’s Child gave a few months ago.

In his new single, the music has something about an imaginarium future, glacial again and highly sophisticated. You should also expect a catchy and melancholic melody with strong breakbeats in the background. Actually this is becoming Tomorrow’s Child footprint in his musical creation. There is also an extreme visual richness in his music, and “Spectres Of Summer” shows it once more. By coincidence, or maybe not, one of Tomorrow’s Child's passions apart from music is photography and video.

The expectations around Beach Ghosts album are getting higher and higher, bring it on!
