Kamil) Hey Horizonte Lied, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?

Alex: Hi Kamil, nice to chat with you too, when I was very young I always felt attracted to synthesizers/pianos, and later on I became fascinated with electronic music, especially with Depeche Mode, after that, I decided to become a producer and a singer/musician.

Jesus: Hi Kamil, thank you for the interview. In my case, since I was a kid I was always attracted to music, especially rock. I remember mom got me my first guitar when I was 10 and since then I’ve never stopped making music.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?

Alex: Sure, I'm always playing some new or old video game on pc or console and love watching movies, particularly sci-fi and horror movies, I also like to write/draw comics from time to time since high school.

Jesus: Totally, I also enjoy being an actor, going to coffee shops and read a book, I also like outdoors, especially natural places, I like feeling the vibes of big places, having a good talk with a friend while enjoying a good view, I particularly love sunsets and sunrises, some anime lol, documentaries, holistic arts, etc.

Your latest song is 'Destello Inmortal (Radio Edit) [Remastered Edition]'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

Alex: Of course, Destello in fact is probably the first song I wrote when I was around 15 years old, obviously it evolved quite a lot to this last version, it's also the debut single we chose around when we released our debut album back in 2003, this remastered version is basically a revamped celebration of our initial body of work professionally speaking, it's also significant because the maxi-single features our first official remixes made by each member of the band.

it's also the second part(of 10) of our big project "Final Remasters".

Can you reveal the recipe for a musical hit?

Alex: It's actually quite difficult to have a definite recipe for that since every song is different and each requires its own treatment to make them work, but if we keep it to basics probably a hit needs a great singer/ or great melody/riff, an appealing structure, and at least, a decent production.

Jesus: There’s always a musical method you could follow as well as what’s being accepted by the crowd based in metrics. But it’s always better to follow what you really want to create, more than just trying to get more audience; it gives you a more tasty satisfaction. And I guess you need a lot of luck as well.

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

Alex: I personally always try to understand the tools I'm using production-wise, since nowadays there are a lot of them, and some are very complex, and always keep myself experimenting with new ways of composing melodies, and sounds, I also do this in the marketing department which is now essential to promote our music and keep growing and finding new ways to attract more listeners.

Jesus: I believe that the best way to grow in any art is by having discipline. Create good habits, do some research, practice, try to get better, be constant.

What inspires you as an artist? Could it be the sea, the weather or something else?

Alex: Several things I guess but one of the most important ones is leaving a message of creativity through our music that can last forever, I know it probably sounds a little corny but believing in what you do is key to inspiration.

Jesus: We always try to translate those significant moments into music. Also, we try to express what’s inside and connect with people through our music and lyrics with the purpose to deliver a positive message.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Alex: that i hope they keep enjoying this wild musical ride with us until our last song

Jesus: Thank you for connecting with us!

Do you have a mentor or coach?

Alex: musically in a symbolic way probably Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode, Trent Reznor, and the guys from Rush. Outside of music I had several somewhat mentors in a way like Sam Harris (neuroscientist) but not so much these days lol, George Carlin was always a great inspiration for difficult social themes, and I also respect and was influenced by Peter Joseph (zeitgeist) even though I'm not as radical as him.

Jesus: Musically I think Alex put it well, I’d add Pink Floyd and perhaps Gustavo Cerati. In life, I personally have had many mentors, but none of them are known by the public.

Do you think it's easy to become established in the music world, or is it difficult?

Alex: It's extremely difficult, to be honest, but at the same time it can be a lot about luck, these days though it's faster to release music without a label it also creates a more saturated market and also as an artist you have to absorb all the costs of promotion, bookings, studio equipment, etc. You need a lot of discipline and perseverance to make it as an independent artist.

Jesus: Definitely very difficult! The music industry is saturated and it’s not easy to be heard even though there are a lot of tools nowadays that give access to all of us to social media. You need more than just being good at making music, there’s a lot of research involved, money and luck.

What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next five to 10 years?

Alex: Keep releasing all our body of work at least and also some completely new music, we are also looking to collaborate with other artists in the future and hopefully produce at least 1 professionally shot music video. Thanks a lot for the interview Kamil, cheers to all the Lost in the Manor crew!
