Not ones to dwell on End Of Year Lists, here at Lost In The Manor we’re looking back no further than the past few weeks to compile our latest flush of top tuneage. We start with some gorgeous, shimmering dream pop from Japan, courtesy of our own signees The fin. ‘Night Time’ is taken from their first UK release, an EP of the same name, out now. Moving a little closer to these shores, Amsterdam’s garage punk quartet St Tropez then crank the needle into the red on ‘Son Of God’, before Dublin singer/songwriter Paddy Hanna, who's been earning comparisons to Elvis Costello and Edwyn Collins, delivers his latest single ‘Underprotected’. Then it’s a long-haul to Melbourne and something of a genre shift via the gritty electro-distortion of ‘End Of Time’ by Ecca Vandal (who’s fresh from supporting The Prodigy) before we wind up back in London and take an atmospheric walk down by the river with sonic experimentalist nonpareil, Zaflon, and his ‘Nightmare Division’, which features Gilan performing vocals both low and high, and is taken from his debut EP, ‘LDP 1’, out in February.
