Bold And Genre Defying, Check Out UnderDog’s “Trans Global Amnesia”!

Boston-based rockers Underdog have burst back onto the scene with their latest album “Trans Global Amnesia”. This twelve-song experience will take you through a diverse range of sounds and sonic motion that show this veteran band’s ability to captivate you with their music while showing off their chops and it is an experience that is well worth your while. So go check this album out, you will not regret it!

Opening with “You Got Me”, this track brings you a gritty and dirty sound with aggressive vocal stylings that do everything in their power to tell you what this band is all about. The second song off this album “Helsinki Airport Blues” immediately tells you the diversity of flavours this band is capable of with a bouncy rhythm and upbat groove that despite being a departure from the style of the previous track continues the spirit of this album with its themes. “Summer Song” takes us back to the basics of peppy garage rock with this band really leaning into the garage rock sound they have perfected through the years and this track blends the best of the two previous tracks with its style before leading us into the trippy and experimental “New World Raga”. The fourth track on this piece has clear ethnic and folk influences in its style with a deviation from the rock staples of instrumentation- guitar, bass and drums. This song is a standout in an album full of standouts and is the first instrumental on the record. “Rocket Baby” and “Louie and Marie” close out the first half of this album and turn up the energy with their fantastic alternative rock passages. “Echo of a Dream” opens the second half of this experience and carries a wonderfully frantic sound that mirrors the opening track and it leads into “Munchausen By Proxy”. At this point in the album, Underdog have settled into a more focused and consistent sound between their tracks leaning into their roots as a band and their perfect sound with “K-9” being the second instrumental on this album with a tight and aggressive sound carrying it throughout. Underdog also dabbles with some black and death metal influences with “Mallus Maleficarum” which is a downtempo and heavy piece of art. Closing this album out are the tracks “Regeneration” which is the last notable departure from the garage rock motif with its upbeat melodies and “Blow Your Face Off” which lives up to its namesake.

Underdog has really made a statement with their second studio album and this outfit deserves all of your love and attention. So go check them out and add their music to your playlists as we eagerly await what they put out next!
