The instrumentation is lush but not in a way that you can’t separate out its elements. The layers don’t suffocate one another and also don’t chase the same sound, and instead they all do their own different bits and come together to create a super groovy sound that will remain hooked on your mind. The bass in the song is particularly magnetic, as it stays booming throughout and gives the song a vigorous sound. The synths and gritty beat drops bring to the song a rawness, a rawness that is in line with the thematics of the song, where desire seems to be getting the better of one, and you can’t help but want that person, despite knowing it won’t do you no good.
Chelle’s vocals have the perfect blend of yearning and desire and allure. Her vocals perfectly mirror the tone that the lyrics are going for. The lyrics are all about recognising the potential of a person being a trainwreck in your life, but you simply are not able to resist the magnetism and allure that your body and mind can sense from the person. The song is quite relatable, for all of us at some point in our lives have been on the edge, trying and failing at getting mixed up with a bad decision in the form of an intoxicating person.
