This week’s LITM Pop Picks features Sonic Neuron, Books of Moods, and more!
Sonic Neuron - “Forever in your eyes”
Dance pop outfit Sonic Neuron is out with their latest single, “Forever in your eyes” — an eclectic dance pop number that manages to get your moving and grooving from beat number one. Be it the vibey basses, or the steady rhythm, the production on this track is what stands out far and above all else. The video is sweet and very well done, while the vocals and the string and brass sections peppered all across the track add yet more flavor and depth to the track. All in all, a winner of a track! Books of Moods - “Holidays”
A sweet and warm pop/country number that captures your heart and mind from the word go, “Holidays” by Books of Moods is a swirling river of gentle vocals, ukulele chords, and choir-like production. The lyrics are heartwarming and relatable, creative in their own outlook. The drumming keeps things moving about swimmingly, while the energy on the song gently wafts up and down. This is all brought full circle by a mix and production that’s eclectic, tasteful, and beautifully executed. All in all, a winner of a track! Take a listen to it here:
Kendra Connors - “Golden House”
A soulful number by Kendra Connors that features a chilling — yet beautiful vocal performance, “Golden House” doesn’t shy away from being raw and intimate in its approach. On its way to charming you, the song explores a stellar vocal performance, an almost Ruelle-esque raw, minimal orchestral pop sound that rings in your ears long after the track has ended. The songwriting is deep and introspective, and beautifully so — and all this is rounded out by a mix and master that preserves every single bit of punch and passion that the rest of the ensemble packs. What a blast! Take a listen to the track here:
Ralphy - “Last Time”
Singer and pop songwriter Ralphy is out with her latest single, “Last Time” — and from beginning to end, it’s a charming pop presentation with retro synths in the background laid below a bold, confident vocal presentation. The drumming ensemble makes a jiffy of getting your feet tapping, while there’s much to appreciate about the vocal layers on this track, yielding it a sense of dimension and grandeur that comes off really rather well. The production is brought full circle by a catchy song structure with refrains and bridges that keep the energy balance healthily varied, making for a listen that surprises you at every turn. PAAB - “Alchemic Love”
PAAB, a rising singer-songwriter based between London and Poland, blends contemporary pop with electronic beats to create transformative music. Known as the “music alchemist,” he reinvents personal stories into symbolic and emotional sonic experiences. On his latest single, “Alchemic Love”, he blends a deep, underground house sound with a soulful vocal performance that doesn’t fail to impress — with its deep rumbling kicks and the potent bassline, every bit of this track screams European deep house — and I mean that as the highest of compliments. The mix keeps things superbly controlled and the energy sky-high as you’re left speeding up to keep up with it from start to end. Take a listen to this track here:
