The Daytime High - "Beauty In The Sky"
The Daytime High have always been a jolly bunch -- bringing the loud, confident sound of rock-and-roll to the speakers in typical Californian fashion; and their latest single, "Beauty In The Sky", is no stranger to this. Right from their unique slapback vocals to the crash cymbals in the background, this song represents a listening fiesta from start to end, the tequila sunrise to pep up your day. The guitar solo mid-song stands out with its sheer flair and integration into the rest of the song. With well-composed instrumentation and an overall solid execution, this track is definitely worth a listen! Check out the track here:
Svarp The Harp - "Hoochie Coochie Man"
Bringing an unmistakable Texan/Southwestern country tinge to his sound, Svarp The Harp presents his latest single, "Hoochie Coochie Man" -- and right from its tight swinging rhythm to the laid-back guitars and harmonicas, the stage is rather well set for Svarp to deliver his immaculate, stylistically distinct vocals. Come the midsection of the song, and the energy settles into a slower section dominated by the harmonicas and the gentle guitars in the background while the drums keep pace -- and the song rounds itself out rather nicely towards the end. Definitely worth a listen -- check out the track here!
Geoff Abraham Band - "When Love Is At The Root"
Rock-and-roller Geoff Abraham is no newbie to his craft -- having endlessly honed his craft since the 1990s, he's now dead set on bringing his signature brand of bluesy rock tunes, all coming together in his latest single, "When Love Is At The Root". Right from the start of the track, the mood is energetic, the vocals are sublime, and the guitars are warm and crunchy. The basses hold the song together quite nicely while the drumming keeps the song chugging along in a steady rhythm. All in all, a winner of a song! Take a listen to the track here:
BruceBan$hee - "White Boy Wasted"
Bringing a new dimension to the concept of grunge/garage rock, up-and-comer BruceBan$hee presents his latest single, "White Boy Wasted" -- a high-energy punk rock number that screams 2000s Papa Roach at their angriest. The vocals are nicely processed, with Bruce bringing a nice, gruff tone to the mic that stands out as one of the highlights of this track. The subtle use of repetition as a motif, as well as the well-balanced refrain section in the track make this one-minute-and-change track definitely worth a listen, as you're left looking for the repeat button. Circus Mind - "Barstool Hero”
The brainchild of Mark Rechler, NYC-based rock outfit Circus Mind brings a sound that blends 70s funk, pop and rock -- up from reggae, swing, and jazz. On their latest single, "Barstool Hero", they bring a proposition that swings from Queen-like pop all the way till Beatles feel-good pop -- while blending these styles together rather uniquely and effortlessly. The vocal presentation is energetic, varied, and the storytelling element of this track stands out the most. The mellotron in the background sets this song in a period where whiskey was great, cigars were delightful, and rock was fun. Check out the track here!
