Listen/review: Drugdealer - Easy To Forget

Words by Tim Hakki @TimHakki

Seasoned psych heads will recognise Drugdealer aka Michael Collins for his work in Run DMT and Salvia Plath. He’s just shared ‘Easy To Forget’ from his album The End Of Comedy, released today. Featuring the vocals of Ariel Pink, the song is a Kinksy lo-fi acoustic strum-along. It’s a great opportunity to hear Pink on form again after last LP Pom Pom which was patchy at best. Collins’s songwriting throughout, like on earlier Drugdealer track ‘Suddenly’, is a tactful homage to the sort of pop writing that prospered in the sixties and seventies.

The End Of Comedy is out now on iTunes and bandcamp.
