News/review: Lost In The Manor at Blogtober 7/10/16

Lost In The Manor’s own contribution to the Blogtober Festival at The Finsbury was topped out in some style on Friday by label signees The fin. The Kobe band are currently residing in Kent as they write and record new material, some of which cut a fine groove into the evening’s set among the blissed atmospherics of the quartet’s fluent classics, which reached a peak with the likes of the imperious ‘Night Time’ and slick cuts from latest EP 'Through the Deep' (listen/purchase here).

Prior to The fin, Bokito energised a packed venue with their nonpareil blend of rock-soca-roots-ska-funk... yes, a tough bunch to categorise other than being crowd-pleasing floor-fillers who never cease to draw the eye. And although Labradoor had to pull out due to illness, The Coolness stepped up to open the show, proving as effective party starters as they were at spinning bona fide retro bangers from the DJ booth well into the small hours.
