What makes ‘Blaze It Up’ so utterly flooring, aside from the metallic dubstep synth sounds and brutal guitars, is the fact that it was made entirely from royalty-free samples provided by Splice. Pure Colors puts it all together like a sonic magician, making a veritable hotchpotch of countercultural sounds from the last forty or so years. Part funky freak-out, part hip hop horror show, it’s a bass-heavy fusion song that’ll definitely have you looking at those royalty-free samples in a whole new light.
