After an ominous social media blackout earlier this month many believed Deep Sea Arcade were preparing to announce their second album. The good news is that they were bang on the money. ‘Learning To Fly’ is the first single from the as yet untitled new album and it’s a beaut. With a similar ear for monolithic pop hooks as countryman Kevin Parker, the group have written a song that’s instantly loveable and so fiendishly addictive it’s like freebasing Max Martin tunes through an Ennio Morricone shaped pipe. Immensely gratifying. Roll on 2017.
