Review: IWLD - Correction Burn

Pete Bush is the name behind IWLD project, created in early 2022. Pete was involved with the post rock band Glass Harbours where he played drums and layered ambient guitar noises. “Correction Burn'' is IWLD ’s second single, after “I’m trying”, the debut single released a few months ago. Both tracks will be included on IWLDs upcoming EP “Think We’ll Be Fine”, scheduled to be released this June.

“Correction Burn” shows us a musical path that, despite remaining in the post rock spectrum, takes us to more contemplative territories. This is a zone where Pete Bush embraces ambient sound unequivocally. When we are listening to the debutante "I'm trying" we find the guitar, bass and drums at the same level of prominence.

In "Correction Burn" the drums appear in an extremely subtle way and it is the guitar and its layers that sets the tone, with a wonderfully applied reverb effect. The result is a heavenly musical masterpiece which transports us to an imaginary world full of utopian landscapes, featuring CJHJO on the guitar. And props to the heavy-deep kick bass that enters at 30 seconds, simply breathtaking. Bring on that EP, IWLD!
