Hey Sydney Gordon. How has the time gone for you since our last interview? What have you been up to during that time?

Hey! This past summer was exciting because my song Chains was featured on iHeart Radio’s Most Requested Live. My band and I have been playing more shows and venues around NYC and having fun connecting with new audiences. Also, I’ve been in the studio working on new music.

What was the feeling you had at the premiere of ‘Obsessed’?

Like with all of my new releases, I was excited but also a bit anxious because I wanted everyone to love it as much as I do! LOL

Your latest song is ‘Obsessed’. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

I will say this track did take some more time to complete than usual because I tend to get a bit “obsessed” with the details of my performance. Thank god my vocal producer Alex Poeppel is patient! But by the time it was finished, I knew it was special and I was glad that I worked at it until it felt right.

What inspires you as an artist?

Everything LOL! You never know when and where inspiration can come for a song.

What is your trademark? It’s about unique sounds or behaviors on stage.

I’m not sure I have a “trademark” per se but I would love for you to see me perform next time you're in NYC and you can tell me!

What is your goal in artistic activities?

To constantly grow and continue to work on my craft.

Do you think that technology is improving lives?

I think technology gives us the freedom to move around more freely and connect with people in ways that keepss things moving. In music it gives me the option to collaborate with other artists and writers that live in other cities, via FaceTime or Zoom, who I wouldn’t have the opportunity of writing with otherwise.

Is artistic life lonely? What do you do to counteract it?

I don’t really ever feel lonely, however, I do have to give up a lot in order to create and focus on my music. I have a great band and we spend a lot of time together, in and out of the studio.

What makes you angry?

Nothing really makes me angry. Maybe annoyed is a better word haha. I guess having to constantly go to the gym and diet. I love staying active but it can be frustrating when you’re having a lazy day haha.

What can we expect from Sydney Gordon in the near future?

New music!
