Ian Giovanni is a singer-songwriter based in Orange County California. Born in London, England, and raised in California. He was a member of Filipino-American band DEVOTION (International recording artists). Devotion has toured all the major markets in the United States and also toured Canada and the Philippines. "Chasing" is his 1st single release! His musical influences include The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Queen, Boyziimen, Jeff Buckley, Oasis, and Onerepublic.

Kamil) Hello Ian Giovanni, it's a pleasure to speak with you. What first got you into music?
I first got into music from listening to my parents records. My 1st memories of listening to music involve a lot Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. I later sang for a touring choir as a kid (shoutout to the ALL American Boys Chorus) and opened me up to many other genres of music.
How do you balance your time in the studio with other commitments such as a part-time job, family, admin?
That's the hard part. It's always a constant struggle to find that balance. Spending quality time with my family and friends is very important to me. Being able to do things I enjoy when I have the time is also very important to me. Going to the studio or just tinkering with the piano or guitar always seem to put me in a good place. Im still trying to find that balance.
'Chasing' is your most recent single. Can you tell us about its history and whether anything remarkable happened during its creation?
Chasing is a song ive been working on for awhile now. A lot of the songs I write are based on life experience. Depending where I am at that time in my life. Writing Chasing made me feel very contemplative but also unsure yet hopeful. The journey of this song was a amazing experience for me. I worked with a few different producers and loved how each one had a different vision. Im really happy how it turned out.
Tell me about the biggest difficulty you've ever gotten yourself into.
Music wise, it was actually releasing "chasing". I had a lot of self doubt, and overall uncertainty if I could do this. Especially being in a band (DEVOTION, international recording artists ) doing something solo was something i wasn't sure I could do.
You live in United States. What do you enjoy best about this country?
I was born in London, but pretty much raised in California. Where I live in Southern California, has always been chill. Im lucky I live in a place with lots of diversity, and especially the overall amazing weather.
Does your family share your interest in music? What are their thoughts on your work?
Yes! They have always been supportive of my music. They're always in my corner good or bad.
Can you describe your finest performance in your career? How do you recall it?
Im not sure if it was the finest, but to perform (with my band DEVOTION) at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles with a lot of my family and friends in attendance was definitely, a highlight as a musician.
Do you have any interests outside from music? If so, could you please introduce us to them?
I enjoy traveling, eating different types of cuisine, cheap wine and basketball.
Who is your dream musician with whom to work, and why?
it would be Liam Gallagher. to jam with him maybe have a pint with him at the pub!
What are your plans for the future?
As a musician, to keep growing as an artist. Maybe release another song or two. This is my 1st release so im just enjoying the ride =)
