Interview: Electric High - Cyclone

Cyclone starts with both Electric High’s lead singers, PV Staff and Olav Iversen, literally spitting the letter FFFFFFF into the microphones, before the whole band kicks in with full force into a pounding upbeat groove, which kind of reminds you of Rocks by Primal Scream, handclaps and all. The bridge coming up next, sounds like the whole band is tripping on acid, while singing brow-raisingly out of tune lalalala’s. Cyclone rages on into another verse and another bridge of off-pitch lalalala’s, before the chorus opens the beat up, amplifies the power, and the C-c-c-yclone appears. The band takes a tiny little breather, with a strange littlle repeating guitar lick, before the storm breaks out again, and tops it off with another bridge and chorus, that measures close to 50 meters per second on Beaufort’s wind scale.

Hello Electric High. What strengths do you have that you believe make you a great musician?

We believe our biggest strength is in our songwriting. Following it up with a great production to make it solid rock.

What is your dream project?

Our dream project is every day we go to the studio to create some new stuff.

Your latest track is 'Cyclone'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?

Cyclone is an energetic song that pumps up the audience. A great song to play on live gigs. It’s about taking control. Taking the power, and using it to entertain.

The bassplayer, Ein Torvik, actually broke one of his fingers on his left hand during that studio session. So some of the songs from that session, was very hard for him to play.

What makes you angry?

Stupid people that don’t accept other peoples differences.

What is the most surprising fact you’ve learnt about yourself?

I dont likt soundchecks.

What do you dislike about your work?

What is there to like about drum soundchecks?!

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Check out our upcoming album! We’ll keep the title to our selfs for now, but we promise there will be a full length album during 2023!

Is the artistic life lonely? What do you do to counteract it?

No, it’s a sosial life…..

What do you think is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen or experienced?

The Wolfmother concert in Bergen 2018!

What are your plans for the future?

Releasing our album and play some more amazing gigs!
