Interview: You'll See One Day - The Letter

You'll See One Day was born on the streets of Melbourne Australia, three blokes created a blood pact to become the biggest, most discussed, covered, and listened to band of the 21st Century. A drummer born and raised on city streets, toughened by the harshness of life itself who lets it all out on the kit, Lee Elliott. A guitarist who crawled out of the whiskey bottle of the US to travel across the ocean on a cloud of Cuban cigar smoke to write fat & filthy riffs, Travis Presley. A vocalist from the untamed bogan bushland of the north who flew to the big smoke to write the catchiest of bangers, Nathan Peachey.

What first got you into music?

Hahaha it's a little embarrassing but, when I was a kid Australian Idol came on TV for the first time. I was obsessed with the winner, Guy Sebastian. I would sing his songs and I performed one of them for my mum. I was so nervous I sang with my eyes closed with my hands on my head! But once i finished, she told me my voice sounded really nice! I was obsessed with it after that.

What do you think your role is in this world?

I think I was given a gift, and my job is continuing to present it to the world until I'm dead. Thats my role, also being the best dad ever!

Your latest track is 'The Letter'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?

The Letter was a song that took some time to write. Loads of changes and edits. I wanted to make sure the subject matter was properly presented. I was at work when the chorus lyrics and melody finally struck me. I immediately took a 15min break to write it down on my phone and sing it in my phone recorder to send to my guitarist, Travis Presley. He friggin loved it and we finally had a base to work from.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

We thank you so much for giving us your time, and we love you, truly.

How do you spend your time?

Well at the moment I'm spending all my time with my baby daughter at home. But when I get a spare moment I love a good gaming session. Love my scifi and horror.

What are you most proud of?

My family, they give me strength and love that allows me to continue to fight everyday.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

Personally, Daughtry. For the band, Black Veil Brides.

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

I'm never afraid to try new things, writing something obscure or different. An artist is a forever changing tapestry so his art should reflect that. Always learning and growing.

Do you think that technology is improving lives?

Absolutely, the fact that I am doing this interview on my phone with one hand and sending it to you instantly is nothing short of a miracle. It's a huge advantage to reaching all our fans on a personal level and we can interact with them no matter where they are in the world!

What are your plans for the future?

To be the first band to play on Mars. Also to release our debut album which isn't too far down the pipe line so keep your ear to the ground!
