Kamil) Hey Kimo Shabi, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?

Ehy, thank you for having me! I remember I was 12; I was liking the idea of singing and writing my songs already during my childhood, but It became something more serious around 12. I was in love with an Italian pop band and I learned my first guitar chords. The very first confirmation arrived an year later. "Enema of the state" from Blink-182 was out and I HAD to learn guitar properly :)

How do you balance your time in the studio with other commitments such as a part-time job, family, admin?

I don't have any kids and I won't , I guess :) But apart from that, honestly, It always been a roller coaster. I always managed to make music even when I was doing full time jobs; I had a lot of projects, it has been challenging and maybe a little bit dispersive, but I guess I learned to enjoy the process. Even if I won't be able to do what I love full time, it will be fine.

Your latest release is 'Art As Necessity'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

When It's about Kimo Shabi 's music, I'm always fascinated to make a concept behind every EP. I always feel it's a sort of therapy for me; so I explore my subconscious, and hopefully someone else outside can relate.

Where did you get the inspiration for this EP?

I wanted something different this time. The concept was music-centered or First EP is a for meditation music (really positive vibes) The second one, "Discoveries" is darker and definitely more experimental, and It was about that, making discoveries about ourselves, reinforcing the identity of the Kimo Shabi project; the third one, "Crumbs form life" was kind of the same thing , but the music was a little bit more various; for this one, "Art as Necessity", I decided I wanted something totally different. There is more variety among the instrumentals, and there are specific reasons on why I decided to make certain arrangements for any painter. Being an art lover, I was always intrigued by art revolutions of 21th century. I decided to give my tribute.

How long did you work on the 'Art As Necessity'? Was it an easy process for you?

It is a curious question. Somehow Kimo Shabi's music is always been easier than other project. It is literally about relaxing, sitting down, and play whatever I feel it's talking to me in that moment. Of course, I work a lot on details ,so maybe just the first part is very easy. Details always take time.

How do you know when a work is finished?

In this case, I make EPs, so I stop when I feel every brick is in its spot.

Can you write what was your best performance in your career? How do you remember it?

Well, I never played really really big gigs, but the best performances were definitely the ones i did with my first punk rock band.

How do you find yourself in the music business? When you started out in music, did you know it would be like this?

I'm not a full time musician and I guess that after a lot of music produced I'm more than an amateur, and it is fine even if I'm not making millions of streams. I'm actually surprised: ten years ago I only wanted to write my onw songs and play gigs. After a lot of time, I can define myself a music producer, and it is nice to handle the entire process , from the idea to a finished product.

Who is your favourite musician?

I cannot answer, too many great people out there :)

What are your plans for the future?

I'll keep making music ,even if it will be harder with time.
