Hello HOBART. What strengths do you have that you believe make you a great musician?

My time management is great. I was a college athlete and this helped me learn how to split my time between work, play, and beyond better than anyone I know. I’m able to create everyday and that makes me happy. It also helps that I look like Ryan Reynolds’ American cousin.

Who inspired you to make music?

My mother showed me MoTown when I was young. This is all her fault. :)

Your latest release is 'The Heavy Stuff'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?

This is a pandemic album for sure. I was able to sit down and make sure this album represented me in the present. “People Like Me” was mastered at Abbey Road. That’s pretty cool.

Can you shortly describe each of the tracks that are on the album?

We Got It is a banger. I wanted something aggressive to start out the album.

Work In Progress is a song I wrote about the entertainment industry and my struggles (and others around me) within it. I love entertaining folks and I hope I’m allowed to do it forever.

Feels is about addiction and loss.

Heartbreaker Outsider will be in a film this year.

People Like Me was mastered at Abbey Roads studio.

This is Gonna Hurt is a labor and delivery anthem. It’s for all the pregnant ladies out there. Hilarious I know.

New Orelans Holiday is my spooky hit. It’s a Halloween time song.

Coming Home is my favorite song to sing.

Loving You has played at weddings.

How do you stay up-to-date with the latest musical trends?

I love listening to new music. Apple Music is key to me staying up to date with new trends.

What do you feel is the best song that you have ever released and why?

The best song on this album in my opinion…People Like Me. It’s the most complex with vocal production and it covers 3 genres.

Why do you want to record and release your own music?

I’m able to write music for myself this way. Every artist I talk to wishes that they could do this, and If they are able to write, record, and produce yourself…you’ll always enjoy your music.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans.

I’m so lucky. I host a game show online 15 hours a week. I have a built in audience that I talk to directly. At shows, I make sure to talk to the fans and I have been known to go into the audience during the concert.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

If you want to follow my footsteps and be an entertainer…make sure you love it! You’ll get told no 999 times and if you’re lucky…you’ll be told YES once. All you need is the one yes to last a lifetime but you better love what you do.

What are your plans for the future?

I plan on releasing more music soon. I am releasing 3 books. I have 2 movies slated to release this year that I acted in. Down the road, I hope to get one of my screenplays on tv or in the big screen. I love all aspects of entertainment. And of course…I’ll be in charge of the music.
