Kamil) Hey Hizway, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?

Nice to chat with you as well. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

The first time I rapped on stage was 3rd grade for a black history month program at my elementary school… I’ve loved rapping ever since.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I’d most like to collaborate with Lecrae from Reach Records, because he’s been one of my go to artists for years and I’ve met him in person.

Your latest song is 'It's Not Over'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

It’s Not Over was written during a hectic time in my life where I was completing my masters degree and trying to figure out my marriage issues as well as trying to help raise my two kids. Just felt like giving up multiple times but God kept giving me grace to keep going and that’s the back story to the song.

What are you focussing on right now?

Right now I’m focusing on my relationship with God, family and music. I have more great music coming and I can’t wait to share it with the world. My kids are 2 and 5 and I just want to be a great example for them and inspire them!

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my kids they just continue to amaze me as they grow and develop!

What is the biggest challenge of being an artist?

The biggest challenge of being an artist to me is finding the right audience and building a solid fan base! I think some of the best artists haven’t been heard because there is just so much noise out there when it comes to music that it’s hard to break through.

How do you structure your day?

I’m a full time 4th grade teacher along with being a husband and father, so I structure my day around that! I usually try to start my day with connecting with God either in Bible reading or prayer then it’s off to the races until bedtime. I usually work on music all throughout the day just whenever inspiration hits.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?

I love sports and being active, so competitive sports life basketball or softball keep me going. I also love to run 5 & 10K’s in the warmer seasons.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

I don’t sing in the shower I rap in the shower and usually my own lyrics!

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to love on my family, make more music and hopefully one day win a Grammy award as well as tour all over the United States!
