New Moon's 6-track EP was written and recorded at Domax studio at Jam International HQ in London, U.K. All the tracks are played on his Monopoly synthesizer with a live drummer. Domax wanted to make an EP with big tunes, a big beat, and loads of energy, all surrounded by a rich, lush sound world. Taking influence from artists such as Apex Twin, Neu, Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Brian Eno, and Fela Kuti. Available now on all platforms and for sale on Bandcamp.

Kamil) Hey Domax, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. How has the time gone for you since our last interview?

All good here I’ve just been plugging away and working on a new live set up. I’m planning on getting out soon and playing these tunes live as a duo. I’m looking to sort my own night somewhere in South East London I’m just trying to find the right place to create the right vibe.

What’s your strongest memory of your childhood?

Haha there are loads but I remember watching “Yellow Submarine” film over and over again with my dad that was trippy shit!

Your latest EP is 'New Moon'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?

The Whole new moon EP went down pretty quickly I started writing this in early November tracked all the drums late November and mixed and mastered it a few weeks after that. I had a clear sound in my head and a few really nice melodies and just went with the flow with this one. I was listening to a lot of the cure around the time I wrote the title track “New Moon” I had a tricky situation where we almost had to move out of our studio halfway though the writing process so I guess this gave me a kick up the arse to get it done. But luckily we got to keep our studio space for a few more months.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

Haha there are way to many! I guess constantly playing gigs with my fly undone …

Is the artistic life lonely? What do you do to counteract it?

It can be but I’m thankful that I live with my lovely wife and dog and they put up with all the weird shit I come out with. If I was a single man I can imagine things would get pretty lonely - mainly due to the amount of time and love you need to put in to being an artist to make it work. It’s a full time commitment to do this properly with very little rewards at the beginning you just need to keep moving forward. I do find balancing putting enough time into this and earning a living from music to be pretty exhausting sometime . I’m not in to doing anything half arsed if you are going to make music and get out there do it properly. I’ve got a little bat cave with all my gear in I spend most of my time in there working on new ideas and pushing things forward till the early hours.

What is your dream project?

I guess to collaborate with someone like Kraftwerk or Apex twin that would be mental!

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Just get on with it ignore whats going on in the current scene things come and go just be true to who you are and make the music you want to make.

When were you generally fulfilled in your position as an artist?

I love listening back go mastered tracks loud in our studio even though no one has heard the music its a great feeling knowing we’ve finished something that we believe in and truly like. It’s great when someone you don’t know messages you about your music or comes to a show that always shows me that it’s going in the right direction.

Can you reveal the recipe for a musical hit?

Amazing melodies surrounded in a lush soundworld ,some driving rhythmic energy and generous pinch of originality.

What can we expect from Domax in the near future?

Loads of new music gigs festivals and my own residency.
