Frostisrad is a Metro Detroit-based alternative artist that combines his love for music and film into a seamless multimedia experience. On 23 July 2021, he released his song 'sometimes i just want to be alone'. His work as an art director, singer, and designer elicits strong emotions such as love, fury, and despair. Frostisrad has worked as a director/art director on projects for Shady Records, Def Jam, the CW network, Sony Music, and many others. Following similar events, Frostisrad created AV CLUB as a method to combine his loves. AV CLUB was founded exclusively to satisfy his combined passions for audio and video aesthetics.

Kamil) Hey Frostisrad, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What have you been up to over the past year in this big old mess?
Honestly just really getting to know myself, I mean its been a crazy year, I feel like I've moved mountains. Cant wait to see what 2022 brings.
I'm very interested in how you started your adventure with music and did you know from the beginning that this is what you will be doing for the rest of your life?
It all started in the 9th grade lunch room , surrounded by an audience free-styling while Cj made beats on the table , I moved through schools a lot back then, but what remained constant was music. Along with the music I was always pretty good at art and creative stuff. When I got out of high school I ended up working with some of my favorite artist, that I grew up listening to , but it was on a different platform I was filming and directing there music videos. So from there I knew it was always meant for me to do something in this field.
Your latest track is 'Sometime I Just Want To Be Alone'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?
I'm a family man , so its hard for me to find some time alone, haha. During the time I came up with this song my wife had a nursing assignment, where she was gone for 13 weeks. At first it was really fun , I felt like a kid , eating pizza every night watching movies until the sun comes up , going out to the bar, coming home passing out in the center of the bed. But being alone kinda got old quick. I guess I'm kind of in to the life I live. So when I heard the beat I kinda just let go and that's what came out.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?
Outside of music I own a full Creative Direction agency, we film , we do photos , we create you aesthetic, swag for sale . And yea that's pretty much my hobby , oh yea I like to act a bit as well.
Do you have any advice for beginning artists, what should they focus on?
Focus on the music , like really focus on the craft and squint on success. For real don't pay attention to the numbers just fall in love with what you do and believe in yourself.
Describe your creative process when you write new music.
I try not to listen to any beats or anything until I'm in the mood to create, Once I got that feeling , I hop in the booth and go through beats , I generally just go off the top of my head, until we hear something dope. Maybe switch up a few things here and there but it's usually a very spur of the moment kind of thing. What we get is what we get.
What are your long term goals?
I'm caught up in the moment , I don't really look too far ahead. But I will say we are working on a movie , and a tape , we are also currently filming a music video for sometime I just want to be alone, and looking to tour very soon.
What is your proudest accomplishment as a musician?
I've had people reach out to me and tell me the music has helped them get through situations in there life, that meant a lot to me. Like it's such a good feeling knowing I'm able to pour positivity into the universe doing something I love. Thank you to everyone who allows me to help.
Do you prefer to work alone or collaboratively?
Both I love collaborating with my band , but I like creating lyrics alone too . Depends on the day haha. Someday's I'm quite the introvert other days, I'm just a really good actor.
What are your plans for next year? Do you have any productions ready to be released?
Next year we dropping a tape and maybe an album, and many more videos. We all are just having so much fun , who knows whats next . AV CLUB
