Chris) Hi, how are you today?

Blanks) I’m well, thank you! Healthy, able to make music almost every day, nothing to complain to about!

For those that haven’t heard of you yet, how would you best describe your sound and who have been your biggest influences so far?

I’d say my music sounds like that happy song that you listened to a few summers ago on a trip with your best friends, and it makes you feel nostalgic every time you listen to it.

You are also influenced heavily by the 80s. Can you tell us who your favourite artists are from that era?

That’s a hard question; there are just so many great artists from around that time!! If I’d have to choose, I’d say Phil Collins, Tears For Fears and Bruce Springsteen?

Do you remember what the first song was that made you want to start a career in music?

This is going to sound strange: Animals by Martin Garrix! I remember thinking: ‘Wow, he’s around the same age as I am and he made a worldwide hit!’ I thought that was so cool, and I started to learn how to produce because of that.

You have just released your new single ‘What You Do To Me’. Can you tell us how that track came about?

I’ve been collecting synths from the 80s, and I wanted to make a track with all my favourite synths in it, haha! So one day, I came up with the chorus, which came surprisingly easy. The verses were much harder though…

And is there a story behind it?

I was falling in love at the time, and wanted to capture that feeling in a song. I wanted a chorus that just makes you feel that explosion of feelings. With that mind-set I started writing this track.

Can we expect a new EP, or even an album from you in the near future?

Definitely!! I’m working on an album and hope to release it at the end of 2021! This is the most fun but also most challenging project I’ve worked on, and I can’t wait to share the outcome!

The coronavirus outbreak has obviously affected everyone’s plans, but what have you got in store for the rest of the year?

Rescheduling my Europe and USA tour, finishing my album, and working on music with and for other artists behind the scenes!

And finally, what is the best piece of musical advice you have ever been given?

It has to sound good. Forget about technical rules and everything: it has to move you!
