Interview: Nobody's Wolf Child - Nobody's

Nobody's Wolf Child is a blend of Cinema and Pop. Each song is created to be within an alternative place of its own. Song production choices were made to represent these audio spaces and the mood of the creatures within. The more you listen the more you will hear the sounds beyond the song, the world that is being created, and uncover the lore behind it. "Nobody's" continues the unique blend of earthy, primal energy and cinematic grandeur that listeners have come to expect from Nobody's Wolf Child. As a call for others to turn their eyes and prick their ears to the reality of a system growing ever more malevolent, her music draws an ever-expanding pack of fans to join in with this rejection of the current narratives that dominate our lives.

Kamil) Hey Nobody's Wolf Child, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. How has the time gone for you since our last interview?

Slow and fast all at the same time, there’s some strange places to get lost in around here. One must watch the footing and look out for pretty lights in the mists. Never follow the pretty lights.

How do you balance your time in the studio with other commitments such as a part-time job, family, admin?

I don’t know what that all is but pack pups take up a lot of energy. You have to show them how not to die all the time. Literally all the time so when there are puppies there is not much else going on.

Your latest song is 'Nobody's'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

I think to tell these things can kill these things so they must remain the experience of the writer. It’s a spell song, so the unusualness was woven into the entire track and yes sometimes these things take on a life of their own, which is what one would want.

How do you know when a work is finished?

Oh well if you start going too far with it and gild the lily you will get bitten on the hand. Gently mind, just to say stop now please.

How do you find yourself in the music business? When you started out in music, did you know it would be like this?

The sharp end of the music BIZ is what it is and I am what I am. We don’t exactly hang out at the same place you know.

Who is your favourite musician?

Well it changes all the time, but there are some strange and captivating creatures that live by the sea, they send some really haunting sounds out into the ether. They’re very active.

Describe your favourite and least favourite part about being a musician.

I don’t have a least favourite part, I’m entirely happy with it. I would like to have massive wings as well though, not having wings is my least favourite part of everything else.

What’s your scariest experience?

Nothingness empty nothing nothingness. ‘The NeverEnding Story’ isn’t supposed to be the most terrifying film ever made but it is, because of the Nothing.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

I think it would be more fun if animals ran it, because Songs should be at the very least earnest. Rats are very clever and full of moxie.… So yes I think little rats sitting behind big desks would be a vast improvement.

What can we expect from Nobody's Wolf Child in the near future?

Hopefully a beautiful live show, more song releases and most probably something about rats….
