German composer & producer Tom Aries and Canadian writer & singer Jordana Moon team up as: Moon and Aries. To bring warmth and assurance for a brighter future. With this concept album Moon and Aries are back with a big and bold statement. They will overcome the old World and build the new World with a fusion of nostalgic and futuristic celestial sounds, like nothing you have heard before. Kamil) Hey Moon and Aries, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. This is the third time I'm interviewing you. How would you summarize the last several months?
Hi, thanks so much for having us back ! It's Jordana Moon that's with you here today. The last several months have been truly such a high for Tom and I. The release of our Break The Matrix Trilogy has been such a fulfilling experience because we really hit our stride with the music we are creating and also being able to reach a broader audience. It's been just a really great time.
What’s your strongest memory of your childhood?
Interesting question! Oh boy, well I remember many parts of my childhood, I had a fairly good one! But a memory pertaining to music … I remember being very sad at a Christmas concert rehearsal when I was about 7 years old. I was so upset that my voice was drowned out in the sea of at least 500 voices in my elementary school. On the car ride home, I was explaining to my Mom as to why I was so down and out, she was giggling to herself but also trying to make me feel better. I just remember, looking out the window, off into the distance… soooo confused as to why I am suddenly stricken with pain about my voice not being heard. I mean, I get it today. But at 7, it was this first moment of extreme desire and I had no clue where this desire came from. No clue ! So yeah, this memory stands out to me and reminds me that we don't always need to understand our desires or our destiny, but to just appreciate the hands we are dealt.
Your latest release is 'Break The Matrix'. Can you share with us the background of its creation and did any unusual things happen during its creation?
Tom and I always start working on the concept many months in advance to when we begin the actual Songwriting process. So things feel very smooth and Tom and I work really hard to stay on track. Maybe this level of discipline comes naturally to us and we have this is common to 1000% But honestly, it does surprise us how much music we've been able to write. And just when we feel exhausted after a song, and think we need a break, we are writing a new song the same day lol
Can you shortly describe each of the tracks that are on the album?
I'll go in order of the album. So Illumination Society is about exactly what the title states: An Illuminated Society that has gone through enough dark days and are ready for a full blown upgrade. Next song is Butterfly Effect. How your decisions in the now ripple forwards and backwards through time, so it's really important to bring your best version into the now; to be raw, vulnerable, and surround yourself with the right people. Then Never For Me. It's a song about the finding power of Veto and No after hitting rock bottom and climbing your way out. Sort of like "the rise of the underdog" and rallying for your right to have free will. Rescued comes from the philosophy of all of us being here on Earth together and having this sort of DNA embedded desire to level up and go to a place that's less stricken by fear and lack. That we can all help each other find peace and a higher version of reality. From Another Dimension is fairly obvious lol The belief that we are multidimensional souls living in a multiverse with endless possibilities of timelines and parallel lives. And that maybe our higher versions who live in another dimension, are always trying to reach us, guide us and remind us we are infinite beings. Codes and Circles is kinda of an "out there " concept about portals, keys and clones lol I'll just say that. The In Between is being in between Worlds, the old vs the new. But it's also the Now moment, and we should look around smell the roses and be grateful. Closer and Closer is basically about Tom and I defeating our inner struggles and outer challenges and coming closer to our dreams. Then finally, Losing Control. Tom actually wrote the lyrics for this song and sings it! It's a song close to his heart about picking up the shattered pieces in your life, putting yourself back together and moving forward.
How do you stay up-to-date with the latest musical trends?
Haha we don't! We stay focused on the music we want to create. We only listened to music we love and are inspired by. We know nothing about trends … and some people love us for this, others say we are too retro / futuristic and not sounding current enough. Which is still a compliment in our books.
What do you feel is the best song that you have ever released and why?
Illumination Society. It encompasses all we are as artists, our deepest message and our sound. It's a nice blend of trip hop and electro pop with a cinematic plot twist in the chorus.
Why do you want to record and release your own music?
I guess this answer circles back to my childhood memories! It's a deep calling, a higher mission and a profound desire within Tom and I to create and share our music. Even tho we've lived good lives, we've aligned with our highest destiny path as Moon and Aries. The feeling is euphoric. We are thankful every step of the way for our musical journey.

Do you think it's easy to become established in the music world, or is it difficult?
It's whatever you believe it is. Tom and I have been focusing on Songwriting, mainly, for the last 3 years since we met. And we have 23 songs out in the World and we both recognize and feel it's time to level up and take our show to the next chapter. So it's all in stride. One foot in front of the other. Get the foundation right ! Get your sound right. Your brand. Get out there and connect. And the possibilities are endless! Everything is at our fingertips. You just need to realize nothing is overnight. And if it is, you still gotta work hard. Tom and I go all in. If you want something bad enough, it's because you are meant to have it.
What can I wish you regarding your career and private life?
Wish us success peace, consistency and stability please and thank you haha. We make music that we hope makes people feel good. So yes, we want to be heard, because we feel it's what the World needs. And will always need.
