Dressed in diverse tints of sonic blues, they have transformed the atmosphere of the LITM Indie Rock List.

Faded Shades - My Place (Or Your Place)

The melodic allure of the indie-rock band, Faded Shades makes a comeback in their new release, My Place (Or Your Place). The Kent-based trio have an expansive sonic bandwidth with their sound ranging from refreshing pop to soft rock to modern rock n’ roll. Built with richness, the track’s tiers are compact with interactive vibrations. Its riff progressions rise into the textured timbre of the baritones which in turn bounces off the tight drum surface. The forming revolutions are immense boosters, fitted with retro filters and blue melodies. Listeners of Regina Spektor and The Smiths are sure to enjoy The Faded Shades.

Trevor And The Travelers - Head In The Sand

Up next, we have the debut track of Florida-based band Trevor And The Travellers. The indie blues rock band brings the intoxicating colors of the sea and the sky to their sound. Head In The Sand advocates for blissful ignorance as a way of life. Blooming with blues, the uplifting indie rock elements are crowned with semitones of the piano keyboard and a walking bass. Its cymbal clashes and groovy riffs are tinted with funk and jazz slights. The track is a dream wash, loaded with youthful simplicity and rolling spontaneity. So keep your head in the sand and feet on the ground, it’ll be alright.

Bootleg Royale - Mr. Business

Following suit, Arkansas band Bootleg Royale bring the country/folk blues to their track, Mr. Business. The track is taken from the band’s latest EP, Bootleg II. Its distinct country accents slip seamlessly into its groovy rock space. The juxtaposition of the former’s softness with the electric vibrancy of the latter makes for a delightful sonic experience. Further, the simultaneous presentation of the dilated vocal screen and the high frequency percussion is yet another marvel of the song. Its cymbal clashes and sticky beats add great dimension, bolstering the track to loaded highs.

Clayton Brown - Pressure

This next track, Pressure by Clayton Brown comes in swinging with his Texan energy. Led by voracious beats and gunning riffs, the track is a high energy performance. Clayton blends indie-rock elements with pop vocals, punk percussion, and gritty melodies, to realize the thematic traits of the song. The pressure build is conspicuous, brimming with the anxiety of the disillusioned and disheartened. It is impressive to see how the artist uses the soundscape as an extension of his thoughts, using it to reiterate and reinforce his point. So, if you’re feeling aimless or lost, you can find solace in the angst of this artist.

Ghost Party - Severed Hands

Ending on a melancholic note is the swirling melodies of Severed Hands by Ghost Party. The track is a gleaming pool with buoyant riffs. Its glassy aftermath of the riffs shadow the dragging gloom of the vocals. Listening to it will invariably induce a smooth trance; a resigned hibernation. The cavernous guitar progression delightfully pairs with the drum motifs to form maze-like patterns in the mind. And as you delve deeper, you’ll find that the mesmerizing superficial glaze is powered by dark spaces of haunted tragedy and despondence.
