'Echoes of Elegy' by Dark Electronic Duo, Mesmershade Shapes a Transcendental Hypnotism

‘Echoes of Elegy’ is the debut release of dark electronica duo Mesmershade. Featuring the talent of Juniper Jow, a Hawaii-based lyricist, and Tokyo based songwriter M. Munigant, the banner explores genre-bending realms. This six track EP explores morbid themes, infusing them with supernatural sensibilities and elating clairvoyance. It is powerfully hypnotizing and emotional. Listen Now!

The EP is introduced by ‘Moth’, an enigmatic sonic arrangement that takes the mind to binding spheres. Juniper’s glass vocals are colored by velvet black synths, and ethereal melody mosaic. Its marvel lies in the gentle undulations with which the artists realize such a complex idea. Next up is ‘We Don’t Have to Wait’. This track holds a darker atmosphere, even though strung with luminous textures. It unpacks an ominous mystery, capitalizing on slow burning horror melodies.

‘The Best That I Could Invent’ is reminiscent of the awry and dejected realities set up by Melanie Martinez and Billie Eilish. Dots of melody and oozing bass synths absorb the listener with its haunting ambience. The vocals are slivers of tales, slipping through to the abyss of the soundscape. ‘Vicissitude’ chimes with texture and melody. It boasts an obvious play of light and darkness, both thematically and sonically. The bass is heavy and layered. It booms behind the light, shaping and molding the buoyancy of the fuzzy melodies.

‘We Sleep’ is penultimately placed with spooky vocal wavelengths to form an obsidian anthem. Formless verse outlines arrange into rhythmic choruses to create. They anchor and liberate the mind, as they explore the bottomless realm of sleep. ‘Death Lover’ concludes the EP. Its sonic palette is close to Vicissitude, with an additional rhythm drive. The mellow frenzy of the vocals unravel like a silver thread against a backdrop of fleshy melody formations and bass spreads. Listen Now!

The EP is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
