Leveller-You, Fading Out of View

Daniel R. Ball is creating some engaging melodies with his project, Leveller. His music has always been amn idiosyncratic amalgam of many types, yet his stands out. This isn’t radio pop, it has a heavier density to the denim that is worn. The Lapsed musician comes in with soothing guitar tones as well as beautiful, essential transitions that make this song a perfect opener. It is sublimation, of a persona and identity, and sounds really great in the way it has been put together. You can listen to the effervescent song here with us:

Golem Dance Cult-Ghost of Las Vegas

Not quite stoner, not quite alt-rock. Golem Dance Cult know their own brand of rock to be a shift away from the grime, to be more mysterious if anything. Like the 90s Marilyn Manson, they create their haunted groove around the psychedelic rock section. The tones complement the style and essence used to push the lyrics that are as unique as their style of rock. The verse section seems to tease you for the chorus that might break your perception of rock reality. Listen to Golem Dance Cult here:

Griffen Handshake-Backwards Country

The rock band have been putting addictive rock surprises out for some time. So this one was bound to happen. Like Green Day in the early 00s, Griffen Handshake know a fecal deal when they’re handed one, and they’re letting everyone know the problem. Backwards Country has the 4 chord changes of all famous punk, but Griffen Handshake know how to put in their own peppery zing as well. The lyrics are engaging and quite honest, while making this one of their most zealous singles. They’re observing the sad state of affairs, and being quiet about it will achieve nothing:

Daniel Young-Help Us Get Along

There is something about this gritty songwriting that pushes it comfortably into rock. Daniel Young has some thoughts and action, and he’s giving us both. It is in the form of this addictive rock single called Help Us Get Along, and it is delightful to say at the least. His muddy guitar tone and a bluesy outlook ensure that this single is perceived like a gut punch that it is. You can listen to the electric single creating waves here, and focus on his sharp lyricism as well. This is one of those songs that becomes an instant favourite:

Bingo Boys-Oh Yeah

With the Ramones like punk opening, you must have known where this would go. Bingo Boys give us feral, raw and inspired rock with Oh Yeah. It is a perfect closer to our weeks' collection, and makes quite the wave with the kind of tempo and energy they put into the song. It is an extremely addictive radio song, and only at 2:24, it has to be a gasoline soaked rag that spreads like a forest fire. You can feel yourself go crazy on the dance floor with this kind of demonic, evocative punk. Welcome to the jungle here:
