In this edition of LITM Rock Picks, rock music gets a spectrum of styles with incredible performances from Faeland, The Trudy, Mums Favourite, SUSAN and Love Ghost. Enjoy a dip in all the styles and be sure to follow the playlist below!

Faeland-Give Up What You Know

A sound that is delectable and divine comes from Faeland. The music that this duo conceives is the floating ether of tales and narratives. The vocals remain an enriching development of tasteful sound and lyrical balance. Having only the acoustic strumming pushes all the attention to the stellar songwriting process. Percussions come in only after you’re completely absorbed into the song, and Faeland make the journey the best part of the theme. One of their most lucid and gentle, listen to their balanced single here as the start of our list!:

The Trudy-Every Story Ever Told

With the panache of Jimmy Page, The Trudy bring Every Story Ever Told. It has the ringing familiarity of Zeppelin’s acoustic muses. Yet, this bank of sound they so claim to write a story about might be their own. The strumming becomes like a heartbeat connect, and resonates with the poetry the lyrics are made of. If there is anything to learn from The Trudy, it is the way they put together harmonics, almost to create all the necessary drama the song requires within the instance. Production is superb in this song, highlighting the kind of tone only The Trudy can pull off:

Mums Favourite-Loveboat

The bluesy rock fusion of Mums Favourite is what makes them ours. Fusing elements of some of the greatest rock bands to walk the Earth was going to be a daunting task at all times. Loveboat makes an easygoing beat easier with their lucid melody writing. The textures are pure, straightforward and echo the sound of a band that has grown tenfold. Vocals are some of the best we have heard in a long time, and that is saying something. You wait, with patience, for a sudden explosion, but it is all controlled. Enjoy the tenor of Mums Favourite here:

SUSAN-How Long

So just like us, you enjoyed the soothing centre of Loveboat. SUSAN brings a Black Sabbath styled opening for How Long. With just a seasoning of guitar for the opening, all you know is the rhythm and which way it will go. What it results to be is a ZZ Top kind of riff with some stylish twists and frills. This band has always given it raw and real, and can be the testimony of the rock that they believe in. We believe in it too, and here is the proof:

Love Ghost-Dope Man

We always love what Love Ghost will deliver, no matter how unique their style offers to be. It has been deftly switching from rock, hip-hop to some laden elements of pop as well, and Dope Man changes the feel to something new. Collaborating this time with Camidoh and DJ Switch Ghana, the percussion carries this song to the front. Rock combined with a groovy delivery promises to be something unlike what you have heard from Love Ghost. We love how they have experimented into this new fold, and their growing sound and fan base showcases some of the best. Listen to it here:
