1. The Perfect Storm - We Fell In Love

We Fell In Love’ by The Perfect Storm feels like an ode to love that lasts. The soundscape holds in it a bright nostalgia, one that feels familiar and warm. Almost nostalgic. The lyrics acknowledge growth in life, while attempting to relive a first love that felt immense.
“...We fell in love, oh what a love!...”, the bright percussion and guitar on the track capture the brightness and passion from that nostalgic time. This while our narrator longs for that time to come back around, almost wistfully. “...She grew up way too fast…”.

2. Kt - Fickle Friend

Fickle Friend’ by Kt is an a close to slow-paced track with a jazz-like rhythm that captures the wry satisfaction in confronting someone painfully unreliable. The song is a call out to our narrator’s “...fickle friend…foe…”.

“...Now I’m done with your shit…” they decalre, over a rhythm that progressively makes you feel as though jogging in place. Some of the lyrics on the track feel incredibly relatable with lyrics seemingly capturing bits of cheeky humour to help the humour (as it were). This is fuelled by frustration and the urge to express that frustration. “...You are as fickle as sunshine…”.

3. Will Chatters - Smile it Out

Smile it Out’ by Will Chatters is a bright, optimistic track that captures warm nostalgia almost like plants catching light. Its lyrics are nostalgic for a time gone past, familiar but distant at the same time. Its lines remain optimistic in the face of the weighty present. “...It’s a miracle how you made me feel…”, so “...how do I say goodbye…”.

Wistfully familiar in its longing, the song hopes for days much like the past. Here, hoping against all hope that things don’t change, and haven’t since. “...Smile it out darling ‘cause I was having a good life…”.

4. Burton Badman - Broken Symmetry

Broken Symetry’ by Burton Badman is a nostalgic track with a deep rhythm brimming with emotional charge. The song’s slow deep rhythms illustrate an imbalance of sorts, where nearly catchy rhythms meld with sentiment to create a bright but moving rhythm.

The melodies meld to create this full sounding deep, expansive almost psychedelic sound. This groove is vulnerable while the narrator attempts to make sense of this energetic shift they seem to sense. This before the song ends on a bright, sentimental fade out, exuding warmth and comfort.Rhythmic, emotionally charged and vulnerbale.

5. Susan Aquila - No Where

No Where’ by Susan Aquilla is an energetic track with a quick pace that embraces the rebellious spirit. The narrator won’t be told who to be or what to do, allowing this mood to fuel the track’s overall, electrifying emotional charge.

“...Baby let’s go no where fast….”, “...don’t tell me don’t ‘cause I probably will….”. The soundscape is charged with this dynamic, almost kinetic energy, while the narrator almost seems to barrel through the track with their electric, energised sense of purpose. The song appears to simultaneously build pressure while actively being fueled by it, making for an immersive, energetic listen.
