LITM Rock Picks Featuring Mozworth, My Glass World and more!

This edition of LITM Rock Picks takes you through different sonic landscapes, from hazy to cushiony to razor sharp. Featuring artists Sean Tweedley, Quality Living, Rise, My Glass World and Mozworth.

1. Sean Tweedley – Hazy Daze

Underneath Sean Tweedley’s latest track, ‘Hazy Daze,’ lies a moody atmospheric haze, just as the title suggests. The churning underbed of music swirls and steadily rises until it bubbles and froths, radiating as it surfaces to the top. The alt-rock artist captures an enigmatic and lilting sonic mix through subtle background instrumentation, blurry foreground murmuration, and vocal layering that drifts the listener through different textures and temperatures. The track starts with an acoustic-leaning arrangement but slowly melts into a more electric one with a touch of overdrive, setting the tone with lyrics: “Standing in your shadows, trying not to shine.” Listen here—

2. Quality Living - Sumac Red

A funky mix of indie rock tones with an Americana spirit, Sumac Red has an open and inviting sound, like a track you would hear at a beach concert or a college fest. The bright tones complement the vocal layers, which feel like a prismatic dispersion of light, offering less haze and more crisp definition. The lyrics flow smoothly with perfect pauses and rhythmic skips, expertly navigated by the lead singer. There’s also a healthy contrast of grooves and licks within the instrumental segments, along with playful arrangements that make the song replayable and fun to listen to.

3. Rise - Always

Similar to the upbeat energy of the previous song, but with a heavier lean toward heartfelt emotion, ‘Always’ is the classic alt-soul track you’ve been looking for. The arrangement layers an ambient synth mix with giddy, old-fashioned chimes from the guitars and an energetic run from the drums. Together, they create a meaty and vibrant soundscape while the vocals tear through with razor-sharp precision. The musicians are clearly having fun; the medley of grooves and exchanges makes the band chemistry especially prominent, as seen in the studio recording. Watch here-

4. My Glass World – River of Light

The cinematic equivalent of shifting skies approaching dusk, ‘River of Light’ is a vivid mix of tones with a lean into a crisp, heavy sound. The instrumental mix is dynamic, moving from thin and sharp to hazy and dense, then smoldering and electrifying. The vocal layers evoke a sense of growing distance as the mix adds a layer of fragmentation in the chorus, subtly tapering the sound with each line. The result is a satisfyingly feverish mix of textures that takes the listener through different terrains without ever feeling overwhelming. Listen here-

5. Mozworth – Story of an Artist

Mozworth just dropped ‘Story of an Artist,’ a heartfelt reimagination of the original song by Daniel Johnston. While the original is piano and vocal-led, this track puts an alternative spin on the composition with the addition of guitars and drums, changing the treatment while maintaining the minimalism and essence of the piece. The undercurrent of music is filled with glistening notes, silky and crisp at the same time, while the vocals are warm, with empathy radiating through the headphones. The track is a poignant ode to every artist’s journey and upward struggle.
