LITM Pop Picks Featuring Sebastian Rydgren, Kelly Jett, Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires, and More!

This edition of LITM Pop Picks brings you a quietly affecting breakup song, dreamy indie-pop from Bali, pastoral psychedelia from Hertfordshire, a long-lost electro-pop gem from Glasgow, and cinematic lounge-pop with a conscience. The list features artists Sebastian Rydgren, Kelly Jett, Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires, Juno!, and NIKOMIX.

Sebastian Rydgren - momentary

Sebastian Rydgren's 'momentary' captures a familiar frustration: falling for someone who has already decided the relationship has an expiration date. Released on October 16, it's the second single from the Swedish singer-songwriter's upcoming EP, 'Contemporary Pt. 2.' Rydgren first drew national attention as a fourth-place finisher on Swedish Idol in 2022. He keeps the arrangement intimate, with a recurring, reverberant guitar riff and understated production that leave room for his vulnerable vocal delivery. What gives the song its pull is the gap between knowing you should walk away and still hoping the other person might change their mind. Rydgren doesn't turn that conflict into an oversized pop spectacle and lets the uncertainty linger instead. 'momentary' is a thoughtful, quietly affecting breakup song.

Kelly Jett - You're the Spark

Kelly Jett's 'You're the Spark' explores the magnetic pull of someone who makes the world feel a little brighter. Released on October 16, the song was written, produced, and mixed in her Bali home studio. It blends warm synthesizers, a relaxed beat, and lush, layered vocals into dreamy indie-pop that builds toward big, cinematic choruses. Its central image, a person whose glow becomes a kind of gravity, gives the romantic writing a clear focus. There's sweetness here, but also a sense of surrender, as the narrator recognizes how deeply this connection has taken hold. Jett's measured production suits that tension, pairing raw vulnerability with polished synthetic textures. Fans of The Japanese House and CHVRCHES will feel at home in this inviting, late-night take on emotional attraction.

Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires - To Think, To Heal

Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires bring a welcome tenderness to 'To Think, To Heal.' The Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire group reworks their earlier instrumental 'The Return' and brings in Dutch vocalist Ilse Van Der Linden, whose airy, dreamlike delivery gives the composition a more personal center. Psychedelic textures and rustic, jangling instrumentation create a drifting, pastoral atmosphere. The lyrics, meanwhile, consider heartbreak, distance, and the need for space after love falls apart. It's a song about recovery that doesn't pretend healing happens neatly. The band, whose 2024 album 'Psychedelic Soul & Trash Vol. 3' earned support from BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio X, keep their adventurous arrangements intact, but the human voice makes the emotion easier to grasp. It's a beautifully reflective release.

Juno! - Higher

'Higher' opens 'Harder Than It Should Be,' the long-lost debut album from Juno!, an underground electro-pop collective from Glasgow. The band recorded it around 2007 across Glasgow, Fife, and beyond, but it was never formally released, despite radio play and industry buzz for singles like 'Atom Bomb City' and 'Cut It Loose.' Reconstructed from early recordings and demos, it's finally out via Last Night From Glasgow, and that history gives the track an appealing context. Built on the band's blend of live drums, analog synths, samples, and dense percussion, 'Higher' belongs to a restless musical world. Juno! favored the untidy excitement of an indie dance floor over rigid genre boundaries. As an opener, 'Higher' introduces that playful, rave-ready attitude, and its retro character feels like a feature, not a flaw.

NIKOMIX - A Quiet Soul

NIKOMIX's 'A Quiet Soul' has a title that invites an inward-looking kind of listening, but the song turns that quiet outward. NIKOMIX is the project of Danish artist Nikolaj Dalsgaard, who wrote, produced, mixed, and mastered the track and directed its music video. Following his debut single '03.17,' the song looks at political unrest through the eyes of an innocent person caught in the crossfire. It urges listeners to look past borders, ideologies, and power struggles toward shared humanity. Across four and a half minutes, melancholic lounge-pop gives way to dystopian textures: an ethereal synthscape, piano, strings, pizzicato motifs, a heartbeat, and ambient crunches that echo marching footsteps. A raw guitar solo and a spoken excerpt of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address bring it to a striking climax. It's a cinematic, thought-provoking DIY release.
