LITM Pop Picks Featuring Possibly Jamie, Layla Kaylif and more!

This edition of LITM Pop Picks brings you effervescent mixes, hazy atmospheres and loop-able tracks from the artists Gary Area, KPJ Beats, Possibly Jamie, Lana Crow and Layla Kaylif.

1. Gray Area – This is Future Me

Gray Area’s latest track, ‘This is Future Me’, blends soft orchestral strings with uplifting pop and electronic landscapes, crafting a uniquely cosy sonic flow state. The warmth of the cello strings comes with a mild grainy texture, creating a buzzy, crispy backdrop against the choir of lilting voices and the foreground of the main vocal duets. The track starts with the vintage hums of the cello before smoothly transitioning into a more pop-oriented soundscape where the vocals softly take over. It’s quite reminiscent of the 2010s with its vocal frills and textures, making it one of those songs you can really sink into.

2. KPJ Beats – Back Seat Confessions

‘Back Seat Confessions’ delivers a sultry, ambient-soaked soundscape, where atmospheric intensity meets mildly tipsy beats and smooth vocals. The song is subtle in its approach and sincere in its delivery, not just within the vocals, but through its themes as well. The composition subtly plays with low bass grooves, trap beats, and lo-fi textures, using the atmospheric haze to deliver that extra kick. The silky textures wrap around the singer, generating soft sheens and gloopy patterns, making the track a truly visceral experience overall.

3. Possibly Jamie – 2000000Time

This track from Possible Jamie packs quite the punch in its short and sweet runtime of 1:43. Its use of instrumentation builds a fun Jenga tower of buzzing and popping synths, an assortment of beats, and tongue-in-cheek vocals, giving it a ‘late-night party in the building’ vibe. With its playful and vibrant tone, the sound is quite the contrast to the song’s theme of a breakup. While it has plenty of experimentation loaded into the arrangement, it doesn’t feel overstimulating or claustrophobic; instead, it feels balanced, organic, and fun to listen to! Catch it here-

4. Lana Crow – I Do

Lana Crow hits it out of the park again with her latest track, ‘I Do’, from the album ‘In Spirit’. Its rustic blend of warm and cool tones makes for a rich, multi-layered mix that feels almost tactile. The composition is subtle yet expressive, with the floaty nature of the synths and instrumental mixes set against a backdrop of atmospheric haze. The echoing and mild distortion add weight, giving the track a slight viscosity and a feverish high overall, which pairs perfectly with Crow's soulful vocals. Her performance shifts from a breathy timbre to a velvety one, enriching the soundscape further.

5. Layla Kaylif – Call of the Yoni

This album-opener from Layla Kaylif effortlessly blends two very recognisable musical terrains, where the Middle East meets the West in a vintage-pop fusion. The track’s composition feels like a festive welcome into a new land, or the awakening of a new chapter; its cinematic feel and lyrics build charismatically through the verses toward a hair-raising chorus. While the instrumentation leans toward Lebanese and Arabic influences, the vocals swirl between Western pop and Eastern tones. Kaylif’s vocals carry a great sense of command and technical prowess, intertwining a grainy, earthy texture with a full-bodied release.
