This edition of LITM Pop Picks brings you three gripping, soul-touching songs from ErickOscar’s new album ‘Still Fighting’.
1. ErickOskar - A Glimpse Of Glory
Who doesn’t love a great heartfelt Americana song? Erick Rivera, who’s better known as ErickOskar, takes us on a moving journey through the country blues with his song “A Glimpse Of Glory” that feels raw, honest, and warm all at once. His passionate baritone vocals and the acoustic guitar strums carry the melody forward. However, the real magic happens at the last section when “A Glimpse Of Glory” transforms into an ethereal gospel choir filled with rich harmonies. Overall, the song is a refreshing, powerful song that leaves you with feelings of hope and spiritual triumph.
2. ErickOskar - No One Sees It
The second track on the list, by Erick, speaks directly to your soul with “No One Sees It”. The song deals with themes of vulnerability and the masks people wear while navigating their personal struggles. The artist, who hails from Panama and has been living in the USA for the past three decades, captures his deep emotions and hidden pain here perfectly. It’s a soulful ballad that has plenty of open strums, allowing space for the vocals to shine. And shine it does! Oscar’s vocals are powerful and visceral, soaring through the track with raw feeling. By the end, “No One Sees It” releases all of the built-up tension, offering ultimate catharsis to its listeners.
ERICKOSCAR - Still Fighting
As the main single from his album of the same name, “Still Fighting” is possibly the most poignant song on the entire record. He wrote this song for his close friend, who was battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, wanting it to comfort her during her darkest days. The song itself is a powerful mix of indie pop and soulful ballad that inspires hope and resilience. The music is kept understated with simple strums and rousing drums to give the melody a strong momentum, while the passionate vocals anchor the song, conveying the hopeful message of “Still Fighting”.
