Interview: Josh Tepper - Poison Apple

Raised in New York City, Josh Tepper attended New York City’s prestigious Performing Arts High School, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, as a vocal major. He continued his college studies at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he majored in Cinema Studies. He is a twin and lives in New York City. The inspiration for Poison Apple comes from Josh Tepper's experience of being in a toxic environment a little over a year ago. The song is about leaving the toxicity and learning that sometimes the most shiny things can come with many negative aspects. In other words, Poison Apple is the anthem for taking back your freedom, leaving the negative, and staying strong.

I really try to stick to a schedule!!!

Your latest song is 'Poison Apple'. Can you tell us more about the making of it and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?

I never feel my work is finished, but I know when to stop.

How do you find yourself in the music business? When you started out in music, did you know it would be like this?

Nothing is ever what you think it will be.

Who is your favourite musician?

Right now I would say Pop Smoke and Bad Bunny.

What’s your scariest experience?

Working in toxic environments….. but then I set myself free.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
