Elke Louie is an emerging indie folk artist from Gympie whose debut single Killing Time showcases her raw, heartfelt storytelling and hauntingly intimate vocals; adopting a gentle, up close and intimate sound with the plucked guitars and the minimalist instrument ensemble, she offers a compelling listening proposition with just her voice and her guitar and piano against the world — as melodies waft into your ears, you’re transported to a world unlike any that you may otherwise see; and when the song does end, you’re left hankering for the repeat button. Justin, known as The Cockney Cowboy, is a Walthamstow-born, Essex-raised country artist whose love for the genre began at 15 after hearing Garth Brooks’ The Dance. Now a favourite across venues in Essex, Kent, London, and beyond, he’s brought out his latest single, “Us Against The World” — performing his lyrics atop a rich bed of bass and skilled drumming, his vocal layers are the standout on this track, while the guitars gently fill up the soundstage, making it even more engaging and beautiful to listen to. Presenting a feel-good country pop track in the form of “Two-Wheeled Death Machine”, Kaneb Andrews is a singer and songwriter who’s poised to make an impact — and this track more than ever prepares him for it. Coupling a beautiful vocal performance with soul and emotion, with an instrumental ensemble that takes you on the journey with it, this track is beautifully presented and executed from start to finish — and we’re fans!
