LITM Rock Picks, featuring Alian B and more!

These LITM Rock Picks come to you this week, bringing you For Old Time's Sake and more!

For Old Time's Sake – “Together”

For Old Time's Sake is a folk rock band that was formed in early 2007 – and today, they produce soothing, gentle tunes with a tinge of classic rock and roll; and “Together”, their latest single, is a shining example. The vocal presentation charms from the get go, while the guitars in the chorus sections introduce a gentle, wavy energy that persists through the track. The production with the musical arrangement is truly the cherry on top; wrap it all in a clear, wide mix, and you have a killer track. Take a listen to it here!

Alian B - “Lion’s Fate”

A musician that’s focused on creating deep, introspective landscapes with his music, UK-based Alian B releases his latest single, “Lion’s Fate” — and right from the get go, you’re welcomed to a downtempo rhythm with retrowave inspired rock melodies. The synths add to the atmosphere with the guitars while the vocals transcend registers quite elegantly, yielding this track a whole new meaning to dimensionality. The mix brings everything together with much aplomb, capturing the emotive, expressive vocals.  A class apart, this one — and one that I’d come back to, time and again — check out the track here!

Matt Tarka - “Salem”

Matt Tarka is an indie pop rock artist Matt Tarka just released his new single, “Salem” — and from the get go, there’s a happy-go-lucky sound to the track that I found quite charming. The well-paced and poised drumming is the star of the show here, holding the track together quite nicely, while the basses and the guitars lay down a solid melodic foundation to the track. The heartfelt vocal presentation and the nicely balanced energy and sound throughout the track wrap things up for you to enjoy. Check out the track here!

Sean Kennedy - “Eighteen”

A bedroom pop artist from New York, Sean Kennedy has been making waves in the industry lately. Inspired by the likes of Conan Grey, his latest single, “Eighteen” is an intimate monologue, coupled with energetic, introspective production. The acoustic guitars and vocal layers lend a sense of warmth and harmony to the track. The chorus sections are well laid out with a natural flow to the energy in this track that makes it a groovy, engaging listen. The synths in the background are the cherry on top, resulting in a track that flows beautifully. Take a listen to the track here!

Fernando’s Eyes - “More For You”

The lead vocalist and primary songwriter for Swedish Principe Valiente, Fernando Honorato has quite the sound as a solo artist as well — and on his latest single, “More For You”, be brings aspects of shoegaze and dark synth rock to the fore. And my, does this track sound good; from the chapel-high vocals to the moody, warm guitars that dot the production, this track has it all! The drumming keeps things moving swimmingly, while the energy simmers gently with the verses and the chorus sections. There’s few tracks that have a sound as distinct as this one — check it out here!
