Shoun Shoun - “We Woke The Monster”

Shoun Shoun's latest single, “We Woke The Monster” takes listeners on a wild ride through lo-fi lockdown anxiety and raucous tales, featuring Annette Berlin's vocal range from whisper to scream, culminating in an intoxicating blend of semi-spoken word and seductive murmurs. From the loud, in-your-face guitars to the dark, hedonistic chord progressions, this song is an indulgence, and it does not shy away from the brand. There’s much to appreciate abut the production and the interplay of the vocals, all wrapped up in a solid mix that retains the power and panache one would hope for, given Shoun Shoun’s sound— and this track more than lives up!
