Listen/review: Anti Pony - Under The Palm Trees

Words by Tim Hakki @TimHakki

Anti Pony first burst into our eardrums with their blistering flowers n’ paisley cut ‘Cry On The Floor’. Like a wave of concentrated lysergia transmitted through headphones, it propelled you through the cosmos with its primal 13th Floor Elevator vibes and viscerally convulsive beats. Stockholm’s finest psychonauts return with ‘Under The Palm Trees’ and it feels good to have them back. ‘Under the palm trees I think of you and I / Under the surface a tear in paradise’ vocalist Sanna Colling laments, evoking the majestically melancholic (and melodic) gratification of The Ronettes.
