Listen/review: serpentwithfeet - blisters

Words by Tim Hakki @TimHakki

This is the title track from Josiah Wise’s first EP outing as serpentwithfeet and it’s a divinely inspired tumble into elysian soundscapes. A slow thunderclap beat underpins the song while some minimal harp gives it an enchanting aspect. The real star is Wise’s soulful voice, which shines as bright as Frank Ocean’s, and considering the experimental nature of the track it’s more than an apt comparison. Rarely does a voice convey naked emotion with this much aplomb.
