For those in the know, White Reaper have been the go-to band for all things scuzzy from Louisville since dropping their EP in mid 2014. CMJ quickly picked it up and hailed it one of their ‘Best Albums Of 2014 (So Far)’ and rightly so. New song ‘Pills’ is the second single from this summer’s debut album ‘White Reaper Does It Again’ and it eschews the Buzzcocks-esque thrum of much of their oeuvre for something closer to the classic pop punk of Blink 182. Buoyant synth melodies add a lackadaisical slacker charm to the proceedings. It’s a piquant evolution from their humbler lo-fi beginnings.
White Reaper Does It Again is out now on Polyvinyl. The band are currently supporting Alvvays on their UK tour
